Job Description
Reporting to the Technical Director and working in the R&D team, you will need an understanding of design for manufacture (DFM) as well as a keen eye for Engineering detail. The role will involve creating detailed drawings in 3D using Solidworks and Revit. You will liaise with clients and suppliers and provide costings, BOM’s and manufacturing documentation for the shop floor. You will be required to talk with the technical departments of major House Builders to discuss solutions and will visit site during installations. You will need to display confidence in your ideas and opinions as you will shape the new systems being built.
The Person
To be considered for this Design Engineer role you will have experience in the following:
Up to date knowledge of current building materials and familiarity with Building Regulations, although this is not essential as each application will be measured on merit.
Previous knowledge of working with a variety of materials such as plastic, metal, rubber and timber; and processes: from extrusion, injection moulding and casting.
Good communication skills will be essential to be able to communicate with other departments such as Clients and the Factory.
Working with clients and an interesting product portfolio/experience
